Poland defies US, will attend Beijing Olympics

Washington is imposing a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Olympics, and has appealed to its allies to do likewise.  Australia, Great Britain, Canada, Japan and many European countries will comply. If this happened 4 years ago, stalwart American ally Poland would have almost certainly followed their greatest ally’s initiative. After all when Trump asked us to ban Chinese 5G we did so. However this week it was announced that Polish President Duda would attend the Beijing Olympics . This is what Duda’s foreign affairs adviser said in the announcement:

“Poland is a sovereign nation and decides its own politics towards China. … Poland is an ally of the United States but Poland also has a very friendly relationship with China… ” 

An unnamed administration official in the report also said,

This is a significant development and an indication of shifting geopolitical thinking in Warsaw. 

PiS and Trump were very good friends, along with Orban and Netanyahu they all got along very well as based conservatives. The current largest story in Poland is that PiS misused the spyware tech they got from Netanyahu.

Many Polish right wingers, both nationalists and libertarians, were worried about these alliances and advocated that Poland should have a “multi vectored” policy to alliances. We should have good relations with everyone, as the strategy of depending on a far away super power has proved disastrous in the past. And of course with the American alliance comes the diseases of the west, the virus of globohomo, which would eventually inevitably lead to ridiculous things like a fight to end white supremacy in Poland.

The boomers who run PiS were of course naive to what was happening in America. Jarosław Kaczyński is the all powerful founder and leader of Law and Justice. The president and prime minister of Poland are just his puppets. Kaczyński grew up in communist Poland with the view of America as only a shining beacon of freedom and liberty. His generation had a very positive view of America, ignorant to the growing problems. Keep in mind these Polish politicians are very well aware that jews run American congress and media. Poland’s ambasador to America is the former ambasador to Israel! But the image of political freedom, liberty, wealth, cowboys and blue jeans is very ingrained. It was what Poland aspired to be.

Kaczyński is a Warsaw intellectual, a bookworm. He is unmarried, lived in his mothers house his whole life, and doesn’t own a computer. Noted animal lover. No relation to Ted Kaczyński.

Trump came to Poland to huge crowds of PiS supporters. It was his first presidential visit to Europe. And he came to Poland. He read a very well received speech. “For family, for freedom, for country, and for God.” “The fundamental question of our time is whether the West has the will to survive.” “Do we have the confidence in our values to defend them at any cost? Do we have enough respect for our citizens to protect our borders? Do we have the desire and the courage to preserve our civilization in the face of those who would subvert and destroy it?”

Hey you guys fell for it, and you live in America! Can you blame conservative Poles for hearing this and being high on American relations in 2016? Trump even did PiS a solid by getting rid of the visa requirement for Poles entering America – a big win for our government.

Things changed once Biden took power. The relationship is reportedly very bad. The new American administration hates the border securing explicitly”LGBT ideology” fighting Polish government. Look at this video the Polish prime minister saying he is preventing “the evil threatening Europe” while the video shows scenes of Muslim migrants at the border. Do you think Biden’s administration was pleased. And likewise the American reaction to George Floyd’s death woke up a lot of people in Poland to what is happening in America.

The relationship with the Biden administration did not start well for Law and Justice. Compare and contrast Netanyahu’s congratulatory tweet with Duda’s.

The conflict between the Polish government and the Biden administration is not public. Biden does not publicly criticize Poland. Biden is a strong Atlanticist and wants Poland to remain firmly in the American sphere. But he would surely prefer and get along better with the Polish liberal opposition if they manage to take power.

The Polish liberal opposition favor a return of Poland to strong EU relations. PiS has just as bad relations with the homosexuals in Brussels as it does with Washington and burned those bridges long ago.

On top of the bad relations with the current administration, there are two other factors. By far the most important is that everyone can see America is a waning superpower, as evidenced by the Afghanistan disaster. We can’t rely on a superpower whose ability to project power decreases, especially since it might become desperate. Imagine a future were America has the choice of giving Poland to Russia, in exchange for something from the Russians (such as help against China). It might be in their interest to do it.

The second is the Germans. Oh gawd the Germans! The growing cooperation of Germany with Russia instills a deep fear and panic in Warsaw.

So with their American strategy in shambles, no hope in returning to an EU strategy, suggestions of improving relations with Russia currently much more taboo than ranting about jews, Poland defies America and sees no quarrel with China. China will warmly welcome the Polish delegation to the Olympics (no anal swaps please!).

Perhaps a multi vectored policy is the future indeed. It’s certainly a move of a more independent Poland than I’ve seen in many years. And a clear indication of America as a power in decline.
